Is Folocard just a business-card scanner?

No. Business card capture is only one entry point. Folocard is a proactive first-touch mini CRM. It connects the card, meeting notes, voice transcripts, calendar events, a sourced dossier, and an actionable follow-up plan into a coherent relationship record.

Where does my data stay?

Card images, extracted text, contact profiles, meeting notes, and person dossiers stay in the private storage sandbox of your device. DataXad does not operate a cloud database or central backup service for Folocard 0.11. The operating system sandbox secures the files; Folocard does not claim individual file-level encryption.

Does Folocard send information to third-party data brokers?

No. Third-party data brokers, automated profile scraping services, and remote AI inference servers are disabled in Folocard 0.11 across all builds.

When does network traffic leave the device?

Network traffic occurs only in specific, disclosed scenarios:

• Public-Web Research: When you turn on research, search terms and requested page URLs travel to search providers (such as Brave Search) and target websites. The resulting analysis and dossier stay on your device.
• Model Downloads: When you install a local language model, your device connects to Hugging Face to download model weights. Hugging Face receives standard network connection data.
• Google ML Kit Telemetry: Google ML Kit runs text recognition locally on your device hardware. Separately, the Google ML Kit SDK transmits technical telemetry and performance metrics to Google.
• User-Triggered Diagnostics: Folocard creates diagnostic bundles locally on your device. Network traffic occurs only if you choose a network destination in the operating system share sheet.
• FormSubmit AI Reports: When you report an AI response and confirm submission, Folocard sends an encrypted HTTPS report to DataXad through FormSubmit.

Operating system share sheet and email handoffs transfer content locally to your selected application. Folocard does not transmit those messages across the network. The external application manages any transmission under its own network and account policies.

Does Folocard send follow-up emails automatically?

No. Folocard prepares drafts for human review and never transmits messages in the background. When you approve a suggested draft, Folocard hands it to your preferred email or messaging client so you can review, personalize, and send it yourself.

What happens if a local language model is not installed?

The deterministic extraction pipeline continues to operate. You can capture cards, extract text, store contacts, and record notes. Folocard will not generate generic canned email templates; the drafting stage simply remains pending until an appropriate local model is available.
